MSW COMMITTEES

Committees play a vital role in advancing the mission and goals of the Main Street program. Guided by the Main Street America Four-Point Approach, committees provide a structured way for volunteers, business owners, property owners, community members, and stakeholders to contribute their knowledge, skills, and ideas to downtown revitalization efforts.

Each committee is responsible for identifying needs, developing strategies, recommending programs and projects, and assisting with implementation within its specific area of focus. Committees serve in an advisory and working capacity, providing recommendations to the Board of Directors while helping carry out the organization's annual work plan and long-term strategic goals.

Committee members are encouraged to collaborate across committee areas, recognizing that successful downtown revitalization depends on the combined efforts of promotion, design, economic development, and organizational sustainability. Through active participation, committees help ensure that programs and projects reflect the needs, priorities, and vision of the community.

Promotion Committee

The Promotion Committee works to create a positive image and increase awareness of downtown through events, marketing, public relations, and community engagement. This committee highlights downtown businesses, attractions, and programs while encouraging residents and visitors to experience all that downtown has to offer.

Design Committee

The Design Committee focuses on the physical appearance of downtown by preserving and enhancing its historic character, improving public spaces, and encouraging quality building and site improvements. This committee helps create an attractive, welcoming environment that reflects the community's identity and supports revitalization efforts.

Economic Vitality Committee

The Economic Vitality Committee works to strengthen and diversify the downtown economy by supporting existing businesses, attracting new investment, encouraging entrepreneurship, and identifying opportunities for growth. This committee uses data and market-based strategies to ensure downtown remains economically sustainable and competitive.

Organization Committee

The Organization Committee builds the foundation that supports the Main Street program by strengthening partnerships, developing leadership, recruiting and retaining volunteers, and securing financial resources. This committee ensures the organization has the people, structure, and resources necessary to achieve its mission and carry out the Main Street program effectively.
